Best viewed from a distance and photographed with telephoto lenses, buffalo can be temperamental and dangerous. Still, buffalo are a living link with the wild west and a symbol of the American plains.

Bison are found in many parts of the Teton valley and Yellowstone. Large herds move to and from water and feed on the grasses of summer and whatever they can find in winter.
